Mid-Year Review | June 20 | In-Person and Virtual

The NM Produced Water Research Consortium will host a mid-year review on Thursday, June 20, 2024, 8:15-5:00 p.m. Participants will have the option to attend in person or online. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the Consortium website for those unable to participate. In addition to the one-day meeting, participants are invited to register to attend two site tours. Note the locations and distances from Las Cruces. UPDATE: The following tour information has been updated. The BGNDRF tour originally scheduled for June 19 has been moved to Friday, June 21. Please register to participate using the link below. Online attendees will receive an email message with the Zoom link following registration. There is a $25 per person charge for in person attendance.
The information that will be presented includes:
Overview of recent produced water events;
Treatment testing updates and highlights;
Risk and toxicology analysis highlights;
Public education and outreach updates and highlights;
Proposed data portal updates and progress;
Infrastructure and workforce planning collaboration updates;
General discussions and next six-month efforts; and,
Opportunities to participate in various tours, including a site tour at NMSU.

Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility tour (BGNDRF)

Use the registration link below to express interest in attending the BGNDRF tour, 500 Lavelle Rd., Alamogordo, N.M., where the SolMem team has launched a groundbreaking pilot test. This pivotal 8-10 week test aims to evaluate the efficacy of SolarMEMD technology -- an innovative system that utilizes 100% solar energy, representing a significant leap towards sustainable water treatment solutions. Mid-Year Review | June 20 - 21 | Virtual

The NM Produced Water Research Consortium will host a virtual mid-year review on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 20 and 22, 2023.  These will be all-day webinars.  They will be recorded and posted on the Consortium website for those unable to participate in a session on either day.

The information that will be presented will include:

  • Summary and highlights of current efforts, progress, and accomplishments of our six Technical Working Groups;
  • Discussion of proposed efforts through the remainder of 2023 and into 2024,
  • Highlights of major produced water treatment technology testing and evaluation efforts, 
  • Presentation of results of Consortium supported research with the US EPA and industry on the toxicity and risk analysis of treated produced water, 
  • Provide tutorials of how to use the Consortium website to: find general background information on produced water, access current data on produced water production by location, identify how to download and review produced water research data and associated reports, and
  • Opportunities to participate in upcoming public outreach meetings and seminars.
