Operation Plan

As a recognized leader in transdisciplinary water research, NMSU, a land grant university, has extensive expertise in the development and assessment of water technologies for multi-use application, (e.g. energy-smart water infrastructure, produced water treatment technologies, agriculture, environmental sustainability) with a vast and comprehensive infrastructure to assess impacts on regional water supplies and agricultural applications. Specific expertise includes advanced methods to characterize water quality and environmental toxicity, development and utilization of smart-sensors and monitoring systems, big-data analysis, and basin-wide system-dynamic assessment of water supply and demand across a variety of uses.

NMSU manages Consortium membership and processes and operates under the umbrella of NMSU’s Office of Strategic Initiatives within the Office of the Vice President for Research, Creativity, and Strategic Initiatives.

The Government Advisory Board (“Board”), and the Technical Steering Committee (“TSC”) support the Consortium. The organizational structure is designed to ensure broad engagement while leveraging the technical and regulatory resources and knowledge within and external to New Mexico.
